At St. Paul’s we are committed to the Christian learning, growth, challenges, and support of children and those who love and care for them. We exist as a community that seeks to draw people of all ages into God’s love and grace, and this involves careful and loving attention to the flourishing, safety, and joy of children and families.

Our nursery for babies and toddlers is staffed on Sunday mornings by our paid, professional caregiver, offering age-appropriate toys and books, and is located in the adjoining room to the older children.

Elementary-aged children join the whole congregation for the Liturgy of the Word and after the reading of the Gospel, go out together to the next room to have their own time of worship, learning, and fellowship together. They follow their own age-appropriate liturgy so that they can participation in and learn the rhythm of the Church’s worship, and they enjoy an interactive lesson geared toward their lives and understanding. They then move with the teachers from their classroom back into the sanctuary in time for the Holy Eucharist, sitting up close around the altar to take in the sights, sounds, and motions of our worship. After receiving communion they return to sit with their families for the closing of the service.

Children are also always welcome to remain in with their families during the whole service. Small toys, books, and activities are available for them in the back of the church at the kid’s corner table. They are also welcome to borrow these materials and use in the pews, if they'd like.

All of our teachers are background checked and have completed the Episcopal Diocese of Massachusetts’ “Safe Church” training to safeguard the care and protection of children at St. Paul’s.
